Environmental Justice Conference

IWM Consulting had the privilege of presenting at the 1st Annual Environmental Justice Conference; Empowerment in Action. The conference was organized by the Martindale Brightwood Environmental Justice Collaborative and held at the Washington Park Family Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Patrick Rohan, CHMM, a Project Manager with IWM Consulting, in partnership with the City of Indianapolis-Department of Metropolitan Development presented “Identifying Brownfields in Your Area”. This discussion included environmental survey techniques that can assist communities in recognizing, researching and cleaning up underutilized properties of concern. Additionally, information was shared with community leaders on how to work with local and state regulatory agencies to remove blight within their neighborhoods. The meeting was well attended and provided a good forum for dialogue.
