Waste to Energy

Waste to Energy (WtE) is a general term for the process of creating an energy commodity from existing waste streams such as municipal solid waste (MSW).  Traditionally, WtE operations have been focused on the production of electricity by incinerating MSW.  WtE projects are rapidly evolving in this country to include multiple technologies to convert waste to multiple energy commodities including electricity, heat, syn-gas, and bio-fuels.

As sustainability, green technologies and a desire for energy independence are being incorporated into our Country's long term business strategies, the opportunities for WtE are expanding.  indiana's diverse mix of industrial and agricultural industries provide an abundant and diverse feedstock of high BTU value waste streams that can be used in WtE projects.  IWM Consulting has performed various feasibility studies for local, national and international companies exploring WtE opportunities including but not limited to BTU Waste Stream Availability and Marketing, WtE Technology Evaluations, WtE Cost-Benefit Analysis Reviews, and Combined Recycling/WtE Business Plans.  We have assisted our clients by turning their waste streams into profit generating commodities.
