Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC)

If you have oil storage tanks, we can help you maintain compliance.

40 US CFR 112 is a regulation designed to prevent oil spills, which applies to owners or operators of non-transportation related facilities engaged in drilling, producing, storing, processing, refining, distributing, or consuming oil products where there is a combined above ground oil storage capacity greater than 1,320 gallons or underground storage capacity greater than 42,000 gallons. The US EPA requires such owners or operators to prepare, implement and maintain a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plan.

We can craft a comprehensive SPCC Plan that will outline best practices and site-specific recommendations to help prevent discharges from above ground or underground storage tanks to maintain compliance with federal requirements. These plans must be re-evaluated and updated at a minimum of every five years, or whenever there is a spill or a change in design or operations which could impact the potential for discharge of oil. We can help you successfully navigate the complexities of the regulatory framework surrounding oil storage tanks and spill prevention.
